The educational publisher PONS in Germany got me under contract to illustrate some exciting book projects. "The Best of Both Worlds" is the first of hopefully more interesting things to come.

Hugo und Ratti, is a comic book written in German language, that was an offspring of our collaboration at "learning & doing" . It's available as print as well as ebook, for example at amazon.

Paintings! Well... This is basically really just an experimental hobby of mine. I've spent years and years with learning to draw, or understanding contrast and composition in photographs. Painting was never much of an option, until I tried to recreate a very old image of Peter Gabriel. So here we go... :-)

Peter Gabriel is and always will be, the most influential artist in my life. I have nothing but respect for him and have always found his work, his lyrics and style most inspirational.

Aside from that, I can reflect upon his words. Throughout my life, I went, like many of us, through dark times, problems, sorrow, and depressions. Nothing helped me more, then listening to him, and I will always be grateful for that.

The painting is based on a small black and white promoshot from 1999, by a photographer who I sadly can't find anymore...

This painting was done as a gift for some very kind and special, loving people. I have spend much time with them and had some of the best years of my life.

The theme had to be Africa, due to the decoration of their living room. Hope they still enjoy this canvas for many years to come ;-)

Blue Jay. A tiny bird with tremendous blue colored feathers, that lives (if I am not mistaken) for the most part in north America .

It is one of the most favorite animals of my father, so I created this painting specifically for him.

Quite fitting actually... He is a free spirit, just like a bird.
